Volunteers pass out green and blue ribbons to tie on trees, stuffed animals, and information on how to donate to the people coming together to grieve outside Annunciation Church on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, a week after two children were killed during a school mass. Nineteen others were injured and two remain in the hospital.
The 23-year-old shooter, who had formerly been a student at Annunciation, brought a rifle, shotgun, and pistol to Annunciation Church. Killed were eight-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Moyski.
Parents of the children shot, community members and local leaders are calling for increased regulation on weapons in the state and nation.
