NICOLLET AVE. BRIDGE WORK
Eastbound Minnehaha Parkway is closed Dec. 1-Feb. 6 at the Nicollet Avenue bridge over Minnehaha Creek for installation of new storm sewer infrastructure. During this time, the one-way, eastbound frontage road is closed to vehicles on either side of the bridge. Lower Minnehaha Parkway is currently closed and is expected to reopen in mid-January. All trails will remain accessible during this time and traffic will be detoured via signage. It is part of a larger project to rehabilitate the historic Nicollet Ave. Bridge over Minnehaha Creek. All structural elements of the bridge will be repaired or replaced. The rehabilitated bridge will be 60’-4” wide and have 6-foot wide protected bike lanes, 8-foot wide pedestrian sidewalks, and two 11-foot traffic lanes.

CANOPY ADDED AT STREETCAR PLATFORM
In October the Minnesota Streetcar Museum finished construction of a partial replica of the 1912 Linden Hills depot canopy. It covers the portion of the platform, including the steps, steel railings and dark concrete, that survived when the 1912 station was demolished in 1955. The original canopy extended all the way to 42nd Street. The current depot is a replica of the first one built in 1901. It was replaced by the “Chalet Station” that was owned by the Park Board. It housed a confectionary, eating area, basement storage for the Park Board, a holding cell for the Park Police and a streetcar waiting room.
