‘A HOMECOMING’ EXHIBIT AT MCAD
“Peter Williams: Homegoing–A Call and Response” celebrates the life, legacy, art, and motifs of artist and MCAD alumnus Peter Williams ’75 (1952–2021). To mark his recent passing and honor his life’s work, this group exhibition features a selection of Williams’ iconic paintings alongside those of fellow Black creatives, serving as a moment of remembrance and connection. Rooted in themes of history, presence, and liberation, “Peter Williams: Homegoing” moves beyond a retrospective into an active call-and-response through the cultural practice of “homegoing”–a memorial celebration of life, legacy, and freedom in the Black community. The free exhibit is open through Nov. 1, 2025. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 6-8 p.m.

50TH LINDEN HILLS FESTIVAL
The 50th annual Linden Hills Fall Festival will be on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, noon to 6 p.m. at Linden Hills Park. Join your neighbors and friends to enjoy live local music, BINGO, food, beer and wine, plus a slew of kids activities.

CINE LATINO FILM FESTIVAL
MSP Film Society is thrilled to share the first wave of titles for the 13th Annual Cine Latino Film Festival. From Oct. 8-12, The Main Cinema in Minneapolis will be buzzing with five days and nights of screenings, visiting filmmakers, fiestas, food trucks, and more as we celebrate the very best in US Latine, Latin American, and Ibero films that exemplify the powerful storytelling coming from these communities.
This year’s program showcases award-winning films from the most prestigious festivals around the world, including: Cannes, Tribeca, Berlin, and Málaga Film Festivals, Sheffield DocFest, Frameline, and San Francisco International Film Festival.
All five days of Cine Latino will include fiestas every night in celebration of the varied cultures represented in the films, including Brazil night, Tango night, Salsa night, performances by traditional Andes dancers, and a chocolate party.
The complete Cine Latino line-up and schedule of events will be announced Sept. 3, 2025.
