Construction has started on rebuilding the Lake Street Post Office that was destroyed in the unrest following George Floyd's murder. Since then, the office has been operating out of the Kmart down the street. The new building is slated to open next Spring.

The City of Minneapolis, Minneapolis Park Board, City of St. Paul, and the U of M are teaming up to issue a joint bike and scooter RFP for 2022. The goal is to work together to find vendors that can work across all of the jurisdictions, and will include a focus on equitable distribution and plans for educating riders on sidewalk riding and parking, among other things.

Khâluna, the new restaurant coming to 40th and Lyndale (previously held by Harriet's Inn) is opening October 20th. Jason DeRusha did a review for Minnesota Monthly, complete with pictures of the interior and the food. "The food is vintage Ahmed: It’s anchored in traditional Thai and Vietnamese flavors (banana blossoms, spicy rice powders, Thai chilis, coconut milk, lots of fish sauce) but amped up, a result of her time living in California." The high school soccer playoffs kick off tonight, with Washburn's girls (5 PM vs. South/Wellstone), Washburn's boys (7 PM vs. South/Wellstone), and Southwest's boys (7:30 PM vs. Robbinsdale Cooper) at home while Southwest's girls will go on the road (5 PM @ St. Louis Park).

Mia is hosting Park Rapids-based artist Aaron Spangler and James Beard cookbook author Amy Thielen (who are married) for a lecture at 11 AM today.

If you have kids between the ages of 8-12, Wild Rumpus is hosting its (virtual) book club for them at 5:30 on Sunday.
