Attention renters: The Minneapolis Renters' Coalition wants to help you out. If you apply here by October 20th at Noon, you'll be entered to get rental assistance worth $300 per month for the next 3 months ($900 total). You do not have to pay any of it back. Check it out, spread the word, and apply (it only takes 10 minutes!). If you miss the deadline, they accepts new applicants between the 15th and 20th of every month. To be eligible, you have to spend at least 1/3 of your income on housing costs.

For the first time since early this summer, the candidates in Ward 13 will face off in a forum from 7:00 - 8:30 tonight. It will be livestreamed on the League of Women Voters Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 7 PM. Council Member Linea Palmisano is being challenged by Mike Norton, a Democrat, and Kati Medford, a Green Party member. There has been a major contrast in the race on the issue of policing, as Norton has been loudly supportive of the public safety amendment. He has also been sharply critical of the Mayor. It'll be interesting to see where the candidates stand after a few months on the trail between appearances together.

Know any 12-17 year-olds you've been trying to get vaccinated? Tell them they can get entered to win a $100k college scholarship if they get it between now and Halloween.
