Hennepin County is offering 25 hours of free consulting to small business owners on topics including planning and evaluation, legal, finance, marketing, access to capital, social media, web development, and more.
The Hennepin County Board meets today at 1:30 p.m. On the agenda: transferring $257,760 from an under-budget mental health facility relocation to fund improvements for First Independence Bank (the first Black-owned depository institution in the state), transferring $41 million to the County's Housing and Redevelopment Authority to advance equitable housing strategies, and more.
The School Board's Finance Committee meets today at 5 p.m. On the agenda: An insurance update (the district is projecting a 15% increase in property insurance and a 50% (!) increase in cyber liability insurance) and an update to the 2023 bond to remove a $10 million technology investment, $843,648 fleet replacement budget, and delay bonding projects at Wilder, Roosevelt, and Edison.
