Testing along the METRO Green Line Extension continues this summer and throughout 2026. Starting next week, light rail trains will begin to be used in testing activities in Minneapolis, between Bryn Mawr and Target Field Stations. The purpose of this phase of project construction is to verify that system elements such as traction power, signaling, communications and warning systems operate safely and reliably.
Visit the project’s testing page for more information.
Ongoing:
- Kenilworth corridor planting activities have begun and will continue through the fall. Trails remain open, but trail users should exercise caution around work sites.
- Cedar Lake Trail access in Minneapolis is expected to have brief disruptions between West Lake Street Station and the Midtown Greenway. The purpose of this work is to allow equipment to access a nearby tunnel house for site work. Trail users will continue to utilize a segment of the temporary trail for the duration of this work in order to maintain trail access. Trail users will be shifted to the permanent trail at the conclusion of this work later this summer.
