"Within massive systems like the City of Minneapolis, systemic racism persists because inertia, so-called 'collegial relationships,' expediency, and the like usually win the day."

The Park Board meets today at 5 p.m. and will take up the tree planting resolution that was delayed from an earlier meeting. Also on the docket is approving almost $34,000 in additional funding for the new Bde Maka Ska pavilion construction.

Bde Maka Ska's 32nd Street Beach and Cedar Lake's Main Beach have been temporarily closed after elevated levels of E. coli were found in the water. You can check beach status updates here.
